As a result of the military intervention of Russia against Ukraine in 2022 the security situation in Europe radically worsened. It provoked the largest war on the continent since World War II.

The conflict in Ukraine was a manifestation of the enhancing confrontation between Russia and the West in the field of security and on fundamental issues in the international relations. It was transformed into a civilization’s war which outcome will have longstanding consequences in and outside Europe.

The world entered a highly risky period similar to the pre-war time. It faces the real danger to self-destruct or to make profound political, economic and social changes that will eliminate for ever the wars in the human history.
